Candy Bar Argument
Studies show that almost 90% of the population on earth eats candy! People who eat candy live longer than others that don’t. I think that Mars and Hershey companies should keep their candies the way they are and continue them.
The first reason why they should keep the candies is because it keeps people healthy. Candy reduces cardiovascular risk for people who have type 2 diabetes. Cardiovascular disease is a disease that people with diabetes can catch. Molecules in cocoa helps the heart from diseases. Another reason is that cotton candy helps restore blood vessels. “A multi-decade study from the Harvard School of Public Health showed that modest candy consumption (one to three times a month) is associated with the greatest benefit, but even those with a daily habit lived longer than those who never indulged,” said Kelly McGonigal, Ph.D., is a health psychologist at Stanford University. This is important because something simple can change the world.
Did you know, studies say that sugar restores more energy and willpower? Sugar makes people focus and stay on task. The second reason is that dye makes you hyper. Scientists say dye may not be too good for you but it helps to get up and going says the superpowers of candy article.” “Studies show that chewing gum makes you more alert of things, reduces stress, blocks pain, and changes mood swings,” says a health psychologist at Stanford University. If there was no gum the world would be in pain and be stressed out all the time.
The final reason why candy companies should keep the candies is because the companies help others. There are tons of jobs for people who want to work for candy companies. If they stop making candy Hershey’s wouldn’t be donating money to charity anymore. Hershey’s made so much money that they decided to donate to charity each year. The final reason is that they make tons of money and could have more workers in the future. “Studies estimate that Mars and Hershey companies have a total of making $550 million a year,” says Alexander E.M. Hess. This shows that companies like this earn so much money off of one thing.
Some may disagree that candy may be bad for you but sometimes it can. Dark chocolate is not a food; it’s a toxin. Chocolate also gives you headaches, cavities, obesity, depression, stress, heart disease, and cancer! An average American consumes 3 pounds of sugar a week! That's 1,767,900 Skittles a year! Have you ever noticed that too much candy can cause cancer and relate to diseases such as heart disease and other cancers! Can you believe that Americans spend $12.6 billion a year on just useless candy! Companies make tons of money just off of something simple! Only 20 to 30 grams of artificial sugar a day can make kids feel weird. For example light chocolate protects us from sun burns. Candy can be good for you in many ways negative and positive too. Most types of candy is healthy for you, some candy you wouldn’t think of to are good for you. The Mars and Hershey companies should keep the candies. So maybe there’s a little sugar but it can’t kill you. If you stick to keeping the candy then lots of things will be better.
