HELLO!
My name is August. Guess what? On my recent expedition I found a new species. I’m so excited to tell you all about it! My animals name is the Corebeetle. This newly discovered animal is very cool. It also has many adaptations.
Since the Corebeetle lives in the desert (it’s just the most common place to find it) it can go a long time without food or water. But luckily it uses its huge sharp horn to cut open cacti its their perfect source. they cut open the cactus and drink the cacti juice (the effects don't bother it) then it takes of the thorns and it eats the cactus whole.
Corebeetles can eat anything. This is because the in the desert. If necessary the Corebeetle will eat packed sand with a side of cactus thorns. Every once in a while the Corebeetle will come across a river. Of course the Corebeetle will stop and drink but what is very amazing is that they have little pockets in their horns where they store their water for its journey.
Its predators are poisonous animals like the scorpion. This is because the Corebeetle can’t take poison very well. The Deathstalker scorpion is the Corebeetles biggest nightmare. Although the Corebeetle is fast but it isn't faster than the Deathstalker. The Corebeetle has ways to escape the Deathstalker though. It covers its shell with sand and goes into its shell. That way it looks like the Corebeetle is a very sharp rock.
Well, that was my trip to the desert and my observation of the mysterious Corebeetle. I hope you might find it on one of your journeys to the desert… but watch out for the Deathstalker scorpion. (Also check out August’s log on the Corebeetle).
