Keep the Candies!
Did you know that Americans purchase nearly 600 million pounds of candy a year for Halloween? And what will happen if Mars and Hershey's discontinue the candies, what will happen to all the candy companies and their workers? In this essay, I will tell you about health benefits of dark chocolate, candies that can make you live a healthier life, and what scientists think about candy. I hope after you read my essay you will want to keep the candies too.
One reason we should keep the candies is dark chocolate has a lot of health benefits. An example of this is dark chocolate slows down blood pressure. High blood pressure is bad because it leads to heart attacks and other serious health problems. Adding on to this, dark chocolate has antioxidants and flavonoids that help with heart disease. And did you know that if you eat dark chocolate it can help undo memory loss! There are so many ways dark chocolate is healthy for you.
Another reason we should keep the candies is some specific candies can make you live a healthier life. For example, cotton candy can help you grow new blood vessels. It melts the sugar fiber into a network of strands and a liquid is poured over the cotton candy network and once the liquid solidifies, they place the whole thing in warm water, which dissolves the cotton candy inside. And then they're left with a perfect mold to introduce the seed cells for new tissue and blood vessels. Wow! And did you know that enjoying more treats can help you slim down.So cool. Adding on to that, cocoa slows the growth of cancer. That’s so amazing. And according to the article called The Superpowers of Candy, “studies show show that consuming sugar makes people preserve longer on a difficult task”.
The last reason we should keep the candies is scientists think candy isn’t that unhealthy. For example, scientists at Hartford found that people that eat candy tend to live longer by about a year! That means you can have an extra 365 more days of life . And if you're taking a test, eat a peppermint. Studies at the University of Cincinnati found that peppermint helped people focus while taking tests. And last, a British study found that a little bit of any kind of chocolate can help a cough. So when you start coughing take out a piece of any kind of chocolate.
In conclusion, I think we should keep the candies. Some people may argue that its wrong for kids to be taken out of school to work on a cocoa farm, but did you know that America doesn’t buy candy from countries that use child labor. It’s easy to think that candy is bad, but when you look at the facts, candy isn’t all bad. What side are you on?
