All About Ole Miss

There are a lot of universities  in the USA. Some universities are small and some are big. One big university in the United States is Ole Miss.

History

Did you know that Ole Miss is the biggest university in Mississippi? It became a college in 1848. It is located in Oxford,Mississippi . It was the only university in the state for 110 years. The first year it opened there were only 80 students. Today there are 21,000 students at Ole Miss . In 1882 it was the first the first college to let girls in.When Ole Miss started there were only 6 buildings. The Lyceum is  the oldest building and it is still there today. Ole Miss football became a sport in 1893. Also the major rivers in Mississippi are the Mississippi River, Big Black River and the Pearl River.

Sports

There is a variety of sports at Ole Miss. There are men's and women's sports at the university. Baseball, basketball, football, golf, tennis, track and field.  Women are allowed to play basketball, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, rifle and track and field.
