BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Bang! Bang! David was hitting and he is the best player on the team .  When he is done I will hit .  After batting practice my coach gathered the team and he said if we beat Fairfield today then we will play Oxford tomorrow in the championship game.

  In the first inning  they were losing

5 - 2.In the 3 inning I hit a double and I thought  to my self I am lucky.  Then David was up and hit a huge hit and I scored  .

The crowd cheered and the dugout went wild  . Another good player Nicky hit a single .  Luke was up and hit a single then got three outs.  The score was like that for the rest of the game.

Then we went to the championship game against undefeated Oxford. My Easton team was on a 16 game winning streak.

I could tell my team was nervous, well at least I was.  They had their best pitcher pitching. The announcers  announced the teams in the batting order. They went first because they are  home team. Then Nickey went.  He was first, Luke, then David, then me.  I was hitting 4th.   Clean up I call it .

PLAY BALL !!!the umpire said.  Nicky got called strike one, then ball .Ding!!! the sound of the bat when he hit a leadoff triple.  The dugout went crazy and Nicky gave the third base coach a high 5 . Then Luke hit a single scoring! Nicky then David hit a single, and with Luke’s speed he got to third ! I was up and got walked and I was glad I did not strike out.

They had their best hitter vs our best pitcher.  David their hitter grounded out and same with 2 other batters after him. my team was hitting that inning we scored 2 runs and the  score 3-0.   

They scored no runs that inning.

Paule was up and got hit in the thigh . Micky was up and got hit in the elbow and walked down to first . Nicky was up he hit a single and the  bases were loaded .  One run scored from luke’s hit then David was up and almost got hit in the head but he hit a single on the next pitch. It could have been a double but our coach did not send him to second . I was up and got strike one then ball, ball 2 then ball 3 then strike 2 then a pitch right down the middle. I hit that off the sweet spot of the bat and it went back to the pitcher’s mound and almost hit him in the head.  Mickey scored and I told the first base coach he deserves that and the coach laughed. At the end of that inning the score was 6-0.  In their at bat they still scored no runs. That inning then we scored 3 runs to make the score 9-0. Mickey said ,”Lets mercy them.”

Then the best hitter on their team was up and he hit a bomb to right field.  Paule caught that one more out, then Nicky started pitching. Then we scored 3 more runs and we mercied them.  they gave us trophies and the parents took pictures . It feels good to win a game this big.
