The One Direction Concert
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”, I heard the pots and pans from dinner time. It was my birthday and I was in Virginia Beach with a bunch of my friends. We rented a house for a week. It was time to open up the presents that my parents gave me. So right away, I ripped through the wrapping. There was a tiny box. I knew it was going to be the tickets. I carefully opened the box, and there it was!! 2 tickets for the concert! I screamed so loud almost everyone in the house heard me. I thanked my parents and hugged them tight. Then as I was looking at tickets, I had just realized that there were 2! So that meant I could bring one of my friends. I would have a long time to decide that because the concert was in August. Also it was in Boston, Massachusetts.
Since I got the tickets, I have been counting the days. Its come to July and I’ve decided who to bring. I originally planned to bring my friend Maddie but then I remembered that she has already been to a One Direction concert. So I decided to bring my cousin Avery. That night I told her and she was almost as excited as I was! we talked about what we were going to do. First we said that when the whole stadium gets quiet then we should scream as loud as possible
The Car Ride
I’ve been waiting for so long! It was the Friday before the concert- the last day of camp. My Mom picked me up from camp and said that Avery could sleep over. We went out for dinner and then she came to my house and we stayed up the whole entire night listening to One Direction songs. In the morning my Mom told me that Five Seconds Of Summer was the opening band!! I got so excited. With Avery- I started packing my bag. I had made a shirt at my friends house to wear to the concert It was a white shirt that said 1D on the front in huge bubble letters. On the 1 I colored green white and orange for the Irish flag because Niall is Irish. And on the D I colored blue, red and white because the British flag is blue white and red for Harry, Louie, Zayn and Liam. On the back I wrote WE LOVE 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER in big letters and then I wrote ‘’Where We Are Tour 2014. It was almost time to leave for Boston so I hurried up to pack the rest of my bag.
I was so excited when I got into the car to go to the hotel. I put my earphones on and listened to One Direction and Five seconds music for a long time. The car ride was 2 hours long. We took lots of pictures with my sunglasses on. Once we got to Massachusetts, there was so much traffic, caused by the concert. We had to stop for gas and we saw 2 girls sitting on the window holding up One Direction signs. Me and Avery got so excited, so we started screaming very loudly at them. We were getting closer and closer to our hotel. We were on the highway and we were bored terribly! We got so bored we took a juice box that I have drank before on wrote One Direction and Five Seconds Of Summer on it. Then suddenly, coincidentally we saw a Capri Sun truck right next to us!! We screamed out the window to the truck driver, and then showed him the juice box, and he smiled at us. Then he beeped the horn at us! Also we started shouting One Direction songs out the window.
Finally, after tons, and tons of traffic- we got to the hotel. We changed VERY quickly, we had to, there was no time to spare AT ALL!!!! Also we had to stop to get gas at the gas station so my parents said we should go in and get a hot dog or something to eat, because at the stadium they were very expensive. She said they were about $17 for a hot dog. So, I did get a hot dog there but, me and Avery decided to eat it in the car. We got back in the car and there was SOOOO MUCH TRAFFIC!!!!!
The Concert
We had absolutely nothing to do because we wanted to keep Avery's phone charged so we can take lots of pictures. Some people who lived in Massachusetts were smart-- they got a hotel right next to the stadium, or they walked. I had a great idea! I rolled down the window and started chanting: “What do we want? One Direction! Who do we want One Direction.” We said it over, and over again. I saw people laughing and cheering.
We drove into the stadium and we had to ask the policeman where to park. it took FOREVER! We got out of the car and took a cool picture in front of the stadium with me, Maya and Avery. We walked up to this place called U check. First they checked us. For example they had to check EVERY single pocket I had. Then he said our seats could be upgraded to a better spot because they didn’t sell enough tickets. The guy said we could go in! We walked through the enormous gates. Then right there, I was standing inside of the stadium!!!!! It looked SO cool! We had to get food first because we already finished our hotdog and took about an hour to get to the stadium. Me and Avery shared a small pizza. Then we went to find our seats. We were VERY close. In fact, we were right in the middle. The stage was so beautiful!! It was red and the background was red too. On the background it said “hey” about a million times. It says ‘’hey” because in the song She Looks so perfect it also says ‘’hey’’ about a million times. My parents said in about 25 minutes 5 seconds of summer is coming on. In the meantime me and Avery listened to songs on my moms phone we blasted it very loud. Then 5 seconds of summer finally came on! It was about 7:30. The first song they played was Amnesia. Everyone was waving their phones around or their flashlights including me. I sang along to it- well actually more like I screamed along. The next song they played was What Like About You. That was me and Avery’s favorite song! We would always sing it to each other whenever I saw her. One time we actually made a dance to it. Then they played Heartbreak Girl. Then they played Don’t Stop, which was my favorite song!!! Next they played the song 18 which was my 2nd favorite. And the last song was She Looks So Perfect. They played it last because it was the most popular song out of their whole entire album. To most people it was the best song. I stood on my chair and clapped as loud as I could. Also I screamed as loud as I could. I was very, very sad when they left.
During the long break I went to buy a One Direction and 5 Seconds Of Summer shirt. I was really excited!! But, they were VERY expensive! they were $40 each!! I knew it was worth it. After the forty-five-minute break, we went back to our seats. And we made it just in time! When we got back, the background changed again. It was a screen with Harry, Niall, Louie, Liam, and Zayn. their faces were in giant boxes. After 10 minutes loud music came on, the lights turned out and One Direction came out with a bunch of fireworks of all different colors! It was so loud. They started to play Midnight Memories. As they continued to play it, me and Avery screamed, and danced like fools. We knew all of the words to almost all of their songs. While they were playing Diana, I stood on my chair, ( which you are not aloud to do,) and i’m not sure if this happened but, NIALL POINTED TO ME AND WAVED! I got so excited. I almost cried! WELL DUH I WAVED BACK! I jumped off my chair and continued screaming. In the middle of a song HARRY THREW HIS WATER BOTTLE TO SOMEONE 2 ROWS IN FRONT OF ME! There was another break. Not everyone in the audience was getting up to get something to eat, or to buy a t-shirt, so the workers put on the macarena and the whole stadium was dancing to it! It looked so cool! Also, they put on a bunch of songs from Grease. That meant after the break there were only 5 songs left to play! :(. The 5 songs they did play were Happily, Little White Lies, Little Black Dress, Up All Night, and they last song they played was What Makes You Beautiful. They blasted thousands of fireworks out. For the last couple of songs I screamed as loud as I ever did in my entire life.. The last thing that One Direction said was ‘’Good night Boston, we love you all and we hope to see you all again! A bunch of fireworks came out again and BOOM! One Direction was gone. At that moment I couldn't believe that I was waiting for months and months for this to happen and it was already over. I was standing there all sad.
We had to pick up a girl that is my moms friends daughter. She LOVES One Direction just like me.. Sometimes we go on vacations with her and her parents- but she’s 15. One of the recent vacations we went on with her family was to Vermont.
Back To The Hotel
It was about 12:00 at night. WE HAD TO WAIT IN THE PARKING LOT FOR 2 WHOLE HOURS. We were almost the last ones to leave! WHile we were driving I fell asleep. We got back to the hotel and my mom woke me up. We walked into the hotel and they gave us 5 chocolate chip cookies! Me and Avery raced to the elevator and up to our room. I fell asleep right away.
Me and Avery woke up in the morning got dressed and went to go eat breakfast at the buffet downstairs. I got a cinnamon bun and an omelette. After that we went up to the room to get into our bathing suits. I almost woke my parents up but I didn’t. The pool was so big! It had a diving board. We went underwater and squeezed random peoples fee.t. Everyone was screaming. One boy said “Mommy, Mommy its the sea monster!!!” Then we did swim races, Avery won. The water was colder, so we went back upstairs to the room. My parents were awake.. While they went to eat breakfast we played in the hotel room and made crazy videos on her laptop. When my parents got back they said we only had an hour left. We spent the hour walking around the hotel speaking in a British accent. people were asking us if we were related to One Direction! WELL WE HAD TO SAY YES!! Once again people started screaming at us. Also we did elevator races. I won! Well by a second. Then finally we had to leave. I packed up all of my stuff and we headed down to the lobby. I ran out the door and into the car.
