Dinosaurs

Meat Eaters
  Meat Eaters Are Meat Eaters!
Meat eaters were vicious creatures. They ripped apart their prey in a hundred pieces. The Tyrannosaurus Rex was the top carnivore of all the dinosaurs. Also, carni means meat or flesh and vore means eater. A dinosaur’s diet depends on its size. For example, a velociraptor is as big as a goat. So, it would eat it’s size or smaller.

Strong Jaws
All dinosaurs need beaks or teeth to stay alive. For example, the T- Rex has six-inch, stabbing teeth. The T-Rex ripped chunks off of the predator they were attacking. Gallimimus had no teeth. Instead, it had a sharp narrow beak that was great for catching insects or smaller animals. Lastly, scientists studied dinosaur teeth to find out that dinosaurs migrated.
Plant Eaters
Plant Eaters Are Plant Eaters!
Plant eaters were not as vicious as meat eaters. They just wanted to keep eating what they were munching on without being bothered.  Actually, most dinosaurs preferred eating plants instead of meat. They only ate what they could reach and what their mouths, teeth, and stomachs could handle. Small plant eaters nibbled on low-growing cycads and tree ferns. They ate the most nutritious bits. The big plant eaters just like Brachiosaurus and Massospondylus have super long necks. They ate high growing leaves at the tops of the trees. The brachiosaurus is greek for arm lizard. Also the brachiosaurus had a long neck not just for eating but for defense. The brachiosaurus walked the woodlands of Europe and it lived in North America and North Africa. The Massospondylus is greek for “large vertebrae”. It walked the woodlands of South Africa. Lastly, the plant eaters prefered greens instead of  fighting with the meat eaters.
Big Chompers

Plant eaters have teeth like our molars. They munch on plants with their chompers. Also, these dinosaurs ate huge plants and digested them in their big bellies. The teeth couldn’t really grind up the plants all by themselves, so gizzard stones helped the teeth grind up twigs and plants. The gizzard stone is a stone that dinosaurs swallowed that went into their gizzard. Lastly, these creatures replaced teeth within 35 days so they wouldn’t get worn out. Clearly, it is true that plant eaters have big chompers.
