Tug-of-War
I waited for Mr. Danielo, our gym teacher to call our class down for tug-of-war. I was a mix of excited and nervous because I thought maybe we’ll win or maybe not
Then the teacher called us down. We all ran down the hill; I was in such a hurry I almost tripped. When we got down we chose a spot on the rope. I was close to the middle because the order was from biggest to smallest. One of my friends, named Diego was in front of me. Another friend, named Matthew was even closer to the front of the rope.
Then Mr. Danielo said, “One, two, three, go!” I started to pull...everyone started to pull. “Keep pulling!” kept being shouted by our team members.
“I think I am going to lose my grip,” I told Diego. Then I grabbed back onto the rope and pulled so hard it hurt my hands. The last time I pulled I felt no resistance. When I looked up everyone on the other team was on the ground .
Yes, I thought. We did it. Then Mr Danielo announced, “The win will go to Mrs. Kangas’s 3rd grade class. Congratulations”!
We all started yelling, “We did it!” My hands still hurt as we shook hands with the other class and congratulated them on a good game.
